Fusion proteins with pharmaceutical properties. Their advantages are:
1. Synergistic activities in one molecule,
i.e. when the molecule binds to its
target, it can perform more than one function simultaneously;
2. An adverse effect or poor stability of one part of the molecule may be offset by the properties of the other; and
3. One part of the molecule can act as a targeting mechanism for the active
protein.
