biomimetic materials

biomimetic materials
Employed to describe synthetic analogues of natural materials with advantageous properties. For instance, some synthetic molecules act chemically like natural proteins, but are not as easily degraded by the digestive system. Other systems such as reverse micelles and/or liposomes exhibit certain properties that mimic certain aspects of living systems.
